Financial Security - 4 Things You Should Know
If I were to give you any advice about How to Secure Your Financial Future, here they are:
1. Be prepared. Always have an emergency slush savings fund or worst case credit card that has all available credit and keep it locked in a safe or back (card, or money respectively)
2. Do your own homework. Don’t believe 80% of what you hear about financial security, especially from late night infomercials. Do your own homework.
3. Be an Entrepreneur. You will only succeed if you start your own business and sell your knowledge or otherwise leverage what you know to turn it into something you can provide others in a way where it provides you with income. Make money online by providing great knowledge for others that’s highly sought after and useful, and then make sure you continue to develop and market your ideas so eventually you can become financially independent. Stop depending on some government job, large institution or big business for money.
The true Entrepreneur seeks to be free of such things rather than be dependent of them. When a large percentage of a country’s labor pool is dependent on big business contractors and government employees rather than on individual entrepreneurs, it becomes more of a socialist capitalism rather than a true capitalism as it should be.
4. Secure your finances, keep them offline and out of anyone else’s hands. I highly recommend you keep 99% of your financial and personal information on a stand along off line computer and that you encrypt the hard drive when it’s at rest (not in use).
More on how to secure your PC in later posts, but only use an online PC for banking when you have firewall, antivirus and a secure sockets layer connection. that will keep you about 98% secure. Also keep important documents in an inconspicuous location and in a fireproof safe, and shred documents you no longer need.
It’s Up to You
True financial security depends on the actions you take or don’t take. Take the basic actions at least, to stay secure.
